I received an e-mail from Microsoft this morning with various tips. I thought I would pass this tip on regarding searching online.

When searching IBM or Lenovo sites, use a + sign in front of each word (i.e. +Hardware +Maintenance +Manual +T60) to force a search for all words. In addition to the above, generally speaking, use quotes "" around a set of words to find an exact phrase. Using upper, mixed, or lower case letters usually has no effect on the search results.

To search for topics on forum.thinkpads.com, click on the Search button at the top of the page. In my searches here, I nearly always click the radio button Search for all terms. This is the equivalent of using the + sign in front of each word in other search engines. If I know one of the post's author's, I will include that as well in the line below. Using quotes has no effect on searches made on forum.thinkpads.com. If you are having trouble getting good results with the above, try using the Advanced search feature in Google. Put forum.thinkpads.com in the Domain line. For some reason, there are certain words that will cause searches to fail on forum.thinkpads.com. One example is the word manual. If you run across an error message in your search here, try removing one of the words that you suspect could be causing the problem.
