perhaps the hapless poster forgot to add the "RS" in the T-80 which would yield TRS-80.. :)

which, in those days, was known as the Trash-80..

You just reminded me of one of my favorite TV ads, from about 5 years ago:

- You see a happy guy driving home in his convertible with a box in his back seat, which is a new PC which proclaims on the box: " The all new state-of-art T-17 Personal Computer " with a picture of the PC.

- He drives by a billboard just as the sign workers finish putting up a new ad: " Introducing the all new state-of-the-art T-18 Personal Computer !! "

(The ad was for an ISP that leases you a PC so you never have to buy a computer that gets obsolete. )

The great part of the ad is how it quickly and visually depicted the concepts of the pace of digital product development and how that impacts consumers.

i, like the current pope, was only quoting historical opinion of others and not making any political judgment..

but if this offends, i will withdraw my commentary on historical fact..
