New windows update and proxy

Hello learned people,

Anybody else having trouble with the new v5 windows update through an authenticated proxy. I've got XP machines on a network accessing the Internet through a linux box running squid. I choose custom install and it bombs out with Error 0x80244016.

Works fine when I bypass the proxy. I'll hunt around but I thought someone may have already solved this.
