Does anyone know if such a drive exists?

In tired of trays, so any substitutes would be most appreciated.

Unfortunately, that is a 12.7mm drive.

Won't work, I need 9.5mm. I know that the current MacBooks use 9.5mm slot loaders, but I haven't seen any made for PCs with faceplates (Macs don't use drive faceplates). I am installing it in a tablet PC and so the lack of a tray is extremely important to me.

No luck, he claims that there are no slot-loaders and that I'm stuck with a tray. That isn't the case as Apple's current MacBook uses a 9.5mm slot-loading drive, but I don't have the model and of course Apple doesn't use the manufacturer's face plate as they mount them internally with the slot on the case and no eject button.

Help, anyone know of a 9.5mm slot-loader. Failing that, is there any way to disable the eject button on a tray-loading drive so that it won't open accidentally? I don't mind using the command in Windows to open the drive.

I'm assuming that you don't want to actually rip out the button or the switch off of the drive. That being the case, a search on Yahoo! using the following:

lock tray cd drive

turns up several programs that might work for you.

Not as elegant a solution as a slot-loading drive, but it will do for now. Thanks.
