I thought about that, but my living room is not large enough. Since the picture i posted in thinkpad-forum.de i've got about 12 ThinkPads more. Two more ThinkPads i'll get from U.S. next days.

@Cigarguy
"Thinkpadinitus" is a fine term for it
Im my case it's pathological and incurable... 8)

@ajkula66:
Unfortunally no flexview.
Thinkpads: 390, 570, A20m 15", A20m 14", T22, T41, T41p and a lot more...

Good observation George! Mornsgrans, did you actively avoid Flexview models? Statistically speaking, you should have at least 3, just by chance!

The number of Thinkpads I currently own: 0.5. It's an X32 with the top removed because the backlight is dead. I am using it with an external LCD hooked up. I bought it strictly for its small footprint and serial port.

The number of Thinkpads I used to own: 45, including several with non-tablet Flexview (A31p, 2 x R50p, T43p). Speaking of tablets, I had an X41 tablet and an X61 tablet but I had each for only several days because I hated them.

I'd love to know where you found the Serial Port :?: on your X32 (not the one in the Ultrabase!).
AFAIK they only have a Parallel and and a VGA port!

I am not fond of this laptop and hadn't looked at it in a long time, so I forgot. I just took a look. It turns out I am using the serial and parallel ports on the dock. This is how I got things mixed up: I bought it for the parallel port on the laptop itself, but ended up needing to use the serial port as well, and so I attached the dock and stopped using the laptop's parallel port.

But I should have known even without looking because just a few days ago, there was a thread where someone said the newest Thinkpad with a serial port built in was a pretty old model (definitely older than the X32), and I contributed to that thread (by mentioning that Dell has a Core i5 Latitude with an integrated serial port).

I have one SXGA+ and one UXGA - ThinkPad. The resolutions are too high for my eyes. So i prefer XGA (still hating Wxxx - display-format). So i never actively looked for a flexview-ThinkPad.

Far, far, far to many! lol

Honestly though most of the ones I have listed are owned by myself (a couple kept in storage for easily accessible replacements), purchased for friends & family or presently waiting to be broken up into spare parts.

Working TPs
T60 - MTN: 2007-FVG
T60p - MTN: 2007-FBG
X60 - MTN: 1706-GMG
X61s - MTN: 7667-34G
X61 - MTN: 7675-H4C
X61 - MTN: 7674-GS3
T61 - MTN: 7659-RFG
T61 - MTN: 7661-CTO / 7661-YEF
R61 - MTN: 8935-CTO / 8935-W2Z
R61 - MTN 8935-CTO / 8935-W9N
R400 - MTN: 7440-CTO / 7440-W2D
R500 - MTN: 2716-W7F

Spares & Repairs
T60 - MTN: 1951-F3G

X61s - MTN: 7666-34G
2xT61 - MTN: 8898-6DG
R61 - MTN: 8918-B8G

EDIT: I am considering using the motherboards from the 2xT61 8898-6DG TPs to create a couple of FrankenPads (using the T60 2007-FVG & T60p 2007-FBG for the shells & LCDs) but I haven't gotten round to it yet as I'm moving out of London back to Aberdeen.

Gonna dump almost everything.... way way too many.. most not working.

As long as I have my working A31p (and a backup A30p) I am a very happy guy.

The A31p is imho the ultimate 'true' ThinkPad... nothing compares today or yesteryear (except the X31, 760XD, 770Z, 600X, T30 perhaps...)

2017: T450 i5-5300U/12/256+128/FHD
2007-2014: T520/i7-2760QM/8GB/320GB, WSXGA+, X200s, T500, A31p, A30p, T42p, X60s, X32, X31
Gone but not forgotten 1998-2006: 2006 T43p 2668-H2G (2GB/60), T22 2648-8EG (128/20), 2005 X40, X31, 2004 T30 SXGA+, 600X, 2003 770 P233+DVD Card, 760XD 1998 760XL+104MB

+ 1 and then some... :thumbs-UP: ...if you read my post from five years ago, you'll note that the only ThinkPad (albeit not the same example) that re-appears in this one is indeed the A31p...

Quite some time later, let's see what we have here:

ThinkPads: A31p, T60 (daughter), Z61m (The One Who Must Be Obeyed)

FrankenPads: T43F, T43p, R60F (my twin boys) plus a plethora of T6x builds in various stages...

Non-ThinkPads: Panasonic CF-31 (work), Panasonic CF-W7 (travel)

Right now I've got:

2 G40s and a G41, an X60T, 2 T30s, a T60p, a 770 and a 770X.

Makes 9 that boot. 5 of those have HDs and run Windows.

On top of that, I have a G41 that's in pieces, and a T30 that's in pieces. I also recently got an R31. Go me.

I've always kinda wanted an A31p.
Trying my hardest to collect Thinkpads, but college and being broke kinda gets in the way. However...

and yes. I am a bit of a lunatic.

As of right now, I have no idea how many thinkpads i have. I've got 100+ laptops and maybe half of them are thinkpads, all t4x series. Of course, only three of these thinkpads are actually mine. I just fix 'em up and send 'em off to various organizations.

20 of those thinkpads are heading to India in a matter of days and the rest is currently sitting at the police impound lot because i was too lazy to unload the van before the b@stards nicked it. Word of advice lads, make sure you've got your stuff sorted before you piss off the police. :banghead:

Down to zero. I am retiring from the US Army Reserve on January 30 after 28 years, and no longer need a dedicated Windows laptop. In preparation, I sold my X61s and am now down to just two computers for my use, a 15" Retina MacBook Pro and an 11" MacBook Air.

About a dozen other Macs at the business, and one Dell server for Exchange.

Its the first time I've been without a ThinkPad since 2000.

Ok, I understand that if you are part of an IT group of an office you get to configure and perhaps use more than 1 ThinkPad. However, I think there are owners out there that actually have more than one ThinkPad for personal use.

Why do you own more than one ThinkPad at the same time?

Mind you, that I wouldn't mind getting a new one every time they come out :) Like a top of the line T42p, however, with my current laptop ussage, the T40p is more than enough for my needs.
