T4x coloured case

#1 Post by Cecilia76 » Sun Sep 05, 2004 5:01 am

Hallo,

does anyone know if the 'coloured case' T4x are planned for short?
Morevoer, if I have a black T4x can I can change the case with the coloured one?

Thanks, C.

I don't know when IBM intends to release multicolored ThinkPads. I don't think it is that easy to change the case - that would involve taking the entire machine apart and replacing almost all of the exterior covers.

I've heard the color case thing was a rumor. God, I hope it is. Last thing I want is for ThinkPads to lose the timeless "business black" look in favor of that colored Dell crap...

I think victoria (lilserenity) has, she might know more. It IS possible, but only if you can afford it as a failure will probably cost a lot...

well I remember seeing some very nice PDA tuning..in which they would just have their pda painted like those very nice chinese boxes.

well if some thinkpad "artist" users want to give it a try...I am willing to lend me T42p ;)

Well, my dad has a design (car foils, standing comercicals and so on) company at home (thank god i'm in computer buisnesses :D ) and i did a unique tribal sticker design for my thinkpad [left handrest, whole top lid], photoshop preview... well, i just couldn't cut putting some sticker (i even removed the XP and Centrino stickies from my TP), to make the raven black shell of the thinkpad gross with some silver stickies... :D

Anyways? did anyone see a really nice design? Lil Serenity [some pics? :D ]?
