No.
I dropped hints that I wanted a T30 or newer, but apparently, I'm not the only one in my family who's short on cash at this time.

Computers do exactly what you tell them at amazing speeds; this can be bad if what you told them wasn't what you had in mind.

How did you like the 700m, aside from its age? I had one for almost two years and liked it very much, and the fact that I kept it for so long (I usually keep a laptop for less than several months) attests to that.TheRossMAN wrote:My Dell 700m was getting a little long in the tooth

I didn't actually buy one for my family...
However, my boss had me order a T60 (14" model upgraded with highest specs) to each of his three boys. Must be nice
On the other hand, I can't really complain. I actually use my two ThinkPad's (X60/s and T43) but I really have about 5 more models in my office (not counting legacy models).

I got one for Xmas. Its something my dad has wanted to get for me since graduation (two years ago) and he he had the money this holiday season. So he bought my T40 from me for my sister and got me the T60... I ordered it though :p
T7200, 128mb x1400, 2gb RAM (aftermarket upgrade), 100gb 7k2, 3945ABG, DVD-RW DL, Bluetooth, SXGA+. I love it.
he gave me a cap of $1400, it ran $1650 after tax, so i knocked $250 off the T40's price. I also ordered through fatwallet referral so i'm getting 7% back (~$110) via check in a few months.
[censored] good deal IMO.

Well, I ordered this T60p the day after Thanksgiving and got it about two and a half weeks later. Now I'm just trying to get all my Linux stuff setup and working. I've been eyeing the Thinkpad for a while now, it's just at Thanksgiving I noticed they had a pretty decent holiday special going on, and my uncle mentioned that if I came across an older laptop for a couple hundred bucks to let him know... so I sold him my old one for $200 and ordered the Thinkpad the next day.

Got myself a ThinkPad 600E with broken hinges, can I repair old hinges instead of buying new ones?
