And you are absolutely *positive* that it isn't Jobs's massive RDF effect? :D

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

I watched the keynote, and yeah, this is why I thought it was so cool. He's a showman, no doubt, but I am very impressed.
Nevertheless, call me 20th century, but I would miss the tactile feel of my Nokia's number keys when dialing. I just don't dial by scrolling thru my phonebook. Voice activation would help, I suppose, and while I've never had much luck with voice activation in the past, if Apple tackled it it might actually work elegantly.
Regarding the calendar and contacts functions, I'm willing to bet they are like the feature on the current iPod (or rather, my 2+ year-old iPod!), which can accept items from Apple's AddressBook and iCal. I think it COULD work with non-Apple apps, since it imports .vcf files, but I found that unless you were using Apple's apps the solution was less than elegant. Which makes me think that you'd have to migrate a lot of stuff over to Apple apps to make everything work as seamlessly as Steve Jobs would have you believe. Even as a part-time Apple user, I just can't get myself to do that!
