$5100 for a used T60?

What's going on here? $5100 for two very well equipped new T60s maybe.... but for one used T60? Weird.

Welcome to eBay! This happens all the time on eBay. The winner's account was hijacked by a prankster.

Prankster maybe, but they sure took some effort in building their feedback.

No, the winner with user name "puglieselouise7777" and 134 feedbacks is not the prankster. The prankster hacked into puglieselouise7777's account and used that account to bid. Bidding with hijacked or fake accounts is a recently started but already quite common problem on eBay, and is getting worse.

Yes, it is becoming common. I just sold a 2.5yr old laptop for $1250 (at least according to the winning bid). Needless to say it was fraudulent, and I am waiting for ebay to carry through with canceling the bid. Very annoying because legitimate bidders were willing to pay $450 - which was a fair price.

Might have also had a buddy outbid the leader by a huge amount since he wanted to back out?

I think eBay provides a mechanism to withdraw one's bid.

The seller seems just as "fraudulent" as the winning bidder, no?

Or do you suppose the seller is the one who hijacked the bidders account, just to boost up their newly created account's feedback? I just don't get the whole thing at all.... why mess with people's accounts! I'm just baffled.

I have had an ebay problem in the past, seems everything is getting worse. Wonder what their stock has been doing in the past year or two. I use craigslist and forum for sale threads.
