My X60s is setting records for me...

#1 Post by RUSH2112 » Thu Feb 15, 2007 9:20 pm

I've made note to this in a few posts, figured I'd start a topic on it.

I've always been one to upgrade my laptop every 2 weeks - 2 months. In the first half of 2006, I switched at least 5 or 6 times.

Then comes my X60s in August....and I've had it ever since (Yes, 7 months is a looooong time for me). But, heres the big part - I have no inclination to get rid of it, and do not see myself switching at any time in the near future. I am actually SATISFIED, nay, HAPPY with my laptop, which is quite an astonishing feeling.

With the exception of my (not quite working) Sony F650, which I've had since 1999, I don't think I kept a laptop for more than 5 or 6 months.

I guess all it took was a good enough piece of machinery to keep me happy with it. All the other computers I've had....either it was too slow, too big, too short of battery life, too poorly constructed. Finally, a computer that fills my needs/wants.

Ah those....yea they started to peel off because I used low quality paper, so I just removed them. No residue, no "patches" - clean removal. I'm left with just two, which are cropped down bumper stickers. I have a Rush 2112 sticker, maybe 2" x 1" on the lid and an Rush Moving Pictures sticker, maybe 2" x 1/2" on the palmrest.

Well, my record was set by a ThinkPad 380ED I bought in 2004 and sold in 2006. I'm hoping to hit a record with my T21 that I got in January. I have a Fujitsu FMV-4100nl/s that I've owned since summer of last year.

My first X31 is from June 2004 -- C$2099 at the time. (Ouch!) It's now coming up to three years, and I suspect we'll have it for quite some time yet.

I like my t42p very much, big screen, nice graphics. I dont know much about the new t-series but I'm looking forward to widescreen and i think they are available with WWAN. I would like to think I would keep this one as long as i can, but that only means until i have enough money for a widescreen t-series.
