I use two solutions and avoid one.

Solution One for documents: I use several Briefcase folders (standard Microsoft application) - one for me; one for each client to their servers. It works very well and synchronizes well. It allows flexibility in the synchronization in terms of which direction replaces, but usually the automation in it works very well.

Solution Two for my large folder of application files: I use Total Commander. I like this tool because it is exceedingly flexible, including the abilty to open files, delete files and view files from either client or server. Not free, but very inexpensive.

I don't care for "Offline files" in Windows Explorer.

I use the 'Synchronize folders' option in VComm's Powerdesk Pro v6.
Can't praise that program enough! (Windoze Explorer replacement).

Has anyone tried SynchToy (free Microsoft utility)?

I've always used my ThinkPad as a desktop replacement but will shortly have a real desktop and will use the ThinkPad just for travel (I work at home), so now I'm starting to wonder about synchronization too. I'm trying to figure out the most efficient way to keep my ThinkPad up to date with the key files (documents and Outlook .pst files) that are on my desktop.
