Logitech USB optical mouse trouble...

I bought a Logitech USB mouse for my thinkpad recently. One thing i found strange is.....the optical mouse couldn't run on PS/2 port. I did it by PS/2 convertor......
-Thinkpad T23 1.2Ghz (2647-4RG) with Docking Station (2631)
-512MB RAM
-60GB Western Digital HDD
-3Com X-Jack Wireless A/B/G
-Imation External Combo DVD/CDRW
-Windows XP Pro SP2
-External 160GB Maxtor HDD

:? I have a Microsoft one that did the same thing, I haven't tryed my new Logitech on it yet

USB->PS2 isn't guaranteed to work.

My old IBM optical mouse work on PS/2. I'm a bit dissapointed with the Logitech mouse thou.....'cause I couldn't utilized the PS2 port. I'm forced to use the available USB which I could use it for other purposes...
