Warranty story:

My radar detector had an LCD display problem during the extended warranty period.
Six months later, broke again, they shipped a new detector (Solo S2).

I've been using their products since the original Cincinnati Microwave Escort through the varying Passports and Soloes to the present day.

They're the best reviewed detectors available.

Even given the fact that Mike Valentine now sells detectors under his own label (Valentine) after the demise of Cincinnati Microwave, the Solo still manages to beat it in most reviews.

I don't see any reviews from 05/06/07, in fact most are from 01/02. Some of the reviews (see the Forbes.com) aren't reviews at all. Most say that V1 is excellent, but more expensive. The MCN review indicates that the Passport is a "contender" - never says it's better than V1.

And, FYI, my arsenal includes my very own Stalker ATR Ka-band radar along with several others... I've done my own tests. I've also tested with several of the cops I work with (most couldn't believe how good the V1 was).

It's a religious argument. V1 still wins.
