Trillian 3.1 Problem, Can anybody help?

#1 Post by Stargate199 » Tue Feb 27, 2007 10:53 am

Okay, I have been stuck using Trillian 2.0 because 3.1 (and 3.0) cause a strange problem at my house. Whenever I first use (or when it has been idle for a few hours and I use it again) the AIM service, my DSL connection crashes and resets. I have no clue what is causing this problem. I have figured out that it may have something to do with an update to AIM when 3.1 was released and the new features cause an overload?. I am not willing to download AOL crapware to test if it is AIM specifically. Has anyone come across this problem before. All my searches make me think I'm the only one with this problem. All ports have been forwarded to my router and firewall is configured properly. No other IM services in trillina (msn, etc.) do not have this problem.
I have finally rejoined the dark side.

Is it standard or Pro? I had a similar problem with the free version for a while. It seemed to ping the hell out of the router until the router pulled a "piss off" and dropped the connection. I upgraded to Pro and all those problems went bye bye.

It happens with both basic and pro. I really have no clue what is going on, but my modem really doesn't like it.
