I used to listen to a bit of Trance, but I changed gears and started heavy into IDM/Ambient stuff a few years ago. I'm primarily an old hip-hop listener however, constantly digging for more.
I use my X32 to run my Serato Scratch setup with my turntables/mixer. I can't think of a better laptop to do the job, really. Perfect size, plenty of power and it runs great with the 120 GB Seagate drive I put in a few months ago.

I listen to a lot of trance/techno/ambient music. I really like Paul Oakenfold. Usually I fire up iTunes and listen to dropZone on the internet radio. I also recommend soma.fm. They have a nice selection, updated frequently.

- Armin van Buuren
- The Thrillseekers
- Above & Beyond
- ATB
- Chicane.......and many more
There's a freelance DJ who post his masterpiece on the internet for FREE which I would say its not bad at all!! http://www.djriver.com

I always saw Oakenfold as more of a DJ than a producer of actual music. I've heard some of his remixes and original cuts, and they're usually not that extraordinary. Lately I've been into alot of stuff on the Narita label...Anders Ilar, Arctic Hospital, etc. I was into Chicane about three years ago, but I've sinced moved on. I can always listen to Underworld, but it's debatable how 'Trance' that really is.

Well this thread inspired me to fire up iTunes and listen to some internet radio. Currently 'chilling' to: Tag's Trip which is one of soma fm's channels. Quite good actually.
See, I don't follow the scene all that much. I know of hardly any artists or sites. Yet I do know that trance is one of my absolute favorite genre's of music. Go figure.

Not that I know anything about this, but I was watching the World Music Awards just now, and I see that Bob Sinclar won Worlds Best Selling DJ award. Personally I am not familiar with Bob Sinclar.
Nevertheless, I really enjoy seeing artists from around the world that I otherwise would not likely hear on a commercial radio station.
I see that these awards took place in November of last year (I missed that telecast). For those interested, the winners are listed in the link below. These awards are based on being the Best Selling in the World (for each particular catagory).

Few years ago I was listening Goa trance,
maybe someone knows the famous israeli group Astral Projection or MFG. Then I also listen German and Dutch Trance (ATB, Sash, PVD & of course Tiesto). Now i'm listening Spanish progressive trance.
Some extracts : Vocal style -> Rodick-Any more

Melody -> Alex TrackOne - Elements
http://www.welcomedjshop.com/welcome/wma3/10851A.rm
I listen also Hardhouse (known also under the name "bumping")
http://www.welcomedjshop.com/welcome/wma4/13059C.rm
These 3 styles are often mixed together by spanish Djs.

Man, it's nice to see some of those DJ's pop up on your favorites list.
I have alot of favorite songs not DJs, i think DJs can stray from their original impressions. Van Burren goes off the deep end in his weekly broadcast, understandibly though, since he releases a lot of music, he's got to try new things. I liked his Boundaries of Imagination album alot.
I am not a big fan of the current offerings from the big names (Van Buuren, Oakenfold, Van Dyk or even Tiesto), but some of their older works are pure art. These include:
Boundaries of Imagination - Van Buuren
Urban Soundtracks- Oakenfold
Niana - Tiesto
Here are some other artists and songs who's music i listen to (in the trance/techno/ambient category)
Schiller (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYSVxbwnZC0)
Marcus Schultz
Future Groove
Groove Armada
Thievery Corporation
Above and Beyond
DJ GT (generationTrance.com)
DJ Doboy
DJ Phoenix (from di.fm's track of Crystal Tokyo)
DJ Mystik (if you dont know how this is, look for his stuff)
Sash
Robert Miles
ATB
Thrillseekers (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEInJ45DxeE)
Gouryella (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uzMRZaQQ_hU)
WILLIAM ORBIT (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UMtmomHeXvA)
Mauro Picotto (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz1w5baiQ3I) Trance + Deep Forest, need I say More?
Rank 1 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D26adkzorLY)
Just to name a few.
Let me know what you all think.
