From London to Sydney by ... bus !

#1 Post by Puppy » Tue Mar 06, 2007 7:11 am

I've just read an (non-English) article about new bus line from London to Sydney. It takes 84 days and goes through more than 20 countries. Might be a unique experience, especially with your ThinkPad :D

sorry but almost 7000usd its insanely expensive.
2 years ago i travelled from trivandrum (south india- i was living in srilanka on that time) through the india-pakistan-iran-turkey-bulgaria-romania(so not a big milleage difference(counting india from south to north would recover the missing from laos-border of australia, and from romania si uk i dont think its more than 48hr straight drive.
i travelled alone, for 2 1/2months and it costed me no more than ~600usd (backpaking, and i still saw everything, and in countries like india or iran living like a "king")

Poor bus!

This was funny to read:

Duties can include: cooking, truck/camp cleaning, shopping and security watch

I wrote this idea off, but looking at the itinerary has me drooling.

84 days on a bus with strangers? That's a recipe for mayhem!

If it's an old Greyhound bus, it might dog paddle <groan> !

When I quickly scanned the trip description earlier today I believe that the bus goes by boat from East Timor to Oz, while the guests fly.
