what's the scam with companies like this? i heard their offer on the radio today and it made me curious about the hook but i couldn't find anything really specific on what they want people to do for the free laptops by scanning through their terms and conditions. has anybody done this before?

well, if that's all it is, no biggie for a free laptop then. some of those lappys are relatively outdated now but it's not like they are ancient or anything. i might give it a try just to see what it's like.dsigma6 wrote:Just like the free iPod crap- You have to sign up for 10 magazine subscriptions, or something like that...then hope you cancel them on time after the free trial.

I actually looked into one of those offers, and they required that you open one of their "affiliated" credit companies credit cards and carry a balance of $500 for 6 months... at almost 20% APR.
Nope. I'm not that desperate for a lappy.
