what is the lovely fireworks photo on the top banner with your initials? I tried clicking on it, but it isn't a hyperlink. Are we celebrating your birthday?? or just the fact that you were born

Just the fact of my continued being!

On April 5th I suffered a massive heart attack, that's my cardiologist's description, not mine.

I was rushed to Deborah Heart and Lung Center for emergency surgery, i.e. three angioplastys and a stent.

I've been home on light duty since being released on April 9, primarily awaiting a callback for the possibility of more surgery.

I was called in for another round of "find the blocked artery" at 0930 yesterday and they decided I needed THREE additional stents. I was released this morning at 0900 and am once again home.

Thanks to Bill and all for the warm welcome "home".

Oh James, I knew you were one indestructible dude!! I believe the advances in heart surgery are HUGE and it is amazing what has become commonplace surgery now. It is great news that you found this now and have dealt with it. I personally know several men (well, not KNOW them  ) who have had similar procedures and their heart was actually much stronger afterwards due to the relief of the stints. We love you James, rest and get as cranky as ever! :D

Wow, that was a major R & R! First they applied Service Pack 1.
When that wasn't enough, they also put in SP2!
Et voila! As good as new, and with a new lease on life.
Glad it worked out well.
I wish you a speedy recovery and may the Power be with you!

For God's sake, live the life!

You've been warned several times and you still in front of the machine.

Are you waiting for the shutdown in front of your thinkpad?
Is that your samurai's philosphy regarding an "honorable end"?

Now, seriously: on august 2003, with only 23 years I suffered one and the first thing I do when going of the hospital was taking a weekend to the beach. I remember that I didn't touch a machine in the following days.

I think I did the correct. Do it yourself and relax. After that enjoy the live.

Hi Melvyn, glad to hear you are okay too. Don't worry, James is a really smart guy and he knows he is among friends here. I think it would do him good to feel the love, it can be just as healing as a beach. :D

yea my prayers are definitely out for you. the heart is delicate and not something to mess with, interestingly enough i walked into the ER friday night with chest pains. Ive had shortness of breath and pain in my chest for over 2 weeks now. i had an echocardiogram this morning and im just waiting to hear back from the doctor. im only 26 and things like this dont happen to "invincible" young men like myself!!! I will keep you guys in my prayers and dont leave me out either!

I'll be praying for you, James! My grandpa has a history of heart trouble (three or more heart attacks and a recent stroke), so I can definitely relate to what you must be going through.

Sorry to hear about the heart trouble James, and glad you are ok. Listen to the docs and do everything they tell you, no matter how unpleasant. It all sucks but it sure beats the alternative.
