What caught my eye was the article on the growing acceptance of ultraportables. I've long been a fan of lightweight laptops and the US has always gotten the dregs of ultraportable market because Americans like big screens and the kitche sink as far as options, unlike my 2.2-lb. Sony VAIO C1. Now, 12" displays with DVD-RW drives are almost as light, run faster, and run longer.
Thinkpads (in order of use): Thinkpad 10 tablet/Transnote/701C

Now Intel has MIDs ( http://www.intel.com/products/mid/ ). They also have the UMPC too. 8)
