Ray's new toy

#1 Post by rkawakami » Fri May 25, 2007 12:31 am

No, it's not another Thinkpad :) .

This one is going to be useful when looking at Thinkpads because of my "half-a-century" eyes  !

Ray, that's an Awesome toy!. Very very handy tool indeed for a Memory test Engineer like you. :thumbs-UP:

I really like it.
"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

That'll come in really handy!

PS: instead of contacts, try some varifocals.
I've had them for years, as I can't wear contacts.
Use them for driving, work at computer screens and reading.
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)

Whoa, I'll bet you look cool peering through that thing  And it has a ThinkLight!! Your photos through there are awesome Ray; for a split second the recent thread of our forum member who takes photos through the telescope of the universe came to mind, opposite ends of the spectrum.

Enjoy your new treasure, great buy.

The A10 was setup for macro mode, no flash and full automatic. This camera does not appear to save any of the shutter speed or aperture settings with the images (at least I can't find them). I do have a Canon A510 which does keep track of this info so the next time I try this, I'll be sure to use the A510 so I can reference the camera settings later.

I was actually quite surprised that the shots came out as well as they did. The A10 is only a 1.3MP camera and it has a self-induced defect with zoomed in images. This was a result of a series of pictures that I took of a nice sunset earlier this year.

With this microscope I could actually see and count those "bee's knees"!

After the initial checkout, I've put the 'scope away until I can get my "office" set up properly (remove bed, install table, train cats). I still need to get the 1x objective lens as well.

This I got to see, maybe you can train them to dust all the Thinkpads with that feather duster Mike is sending you.

Boo, the Maine Coon, is already "dusting" my Thinkpads with her coat, thank you very much :? . The training will be to teach them not to jump up on the new table. They do pretty good when we're around (one recent slip-up by Harley excepted) and I hope they are still minding themselves when we're not. When they were kittens we used the "squirt bottle" method to remind them that they are not allowed on the dining room table and the kitchen counters. I actually had a remote video camera setup a couple of times when the wife and kids were not around and I could monitor them from work. I never did see them "break the rules" simply because they were sleeping during the day. I doubt that I'd need the bottle now and besides, they already have the existing desk and window sill to perch on.
