08/2007 - TP buyers are lucky; many options in Marketplace!

#1 Post by underclocker » Fri Aug 03, 2007 9:49 am

I just wanted to say that if you have $450 or more to spend on a used TP, now is about the best time I've seen for our Marketplace.

There must be a dozen or more sweet machines available with more being listed daily. I have three for sale there myself.

The potential buyers have it good.
T510, i7-620m, NVidia, HD+, 8GB, 180GB Intel Pro 1500 SSD, Webcam, BT, FPR Home
T400s, C2D SP9400, Intel 4500MHD, WXGA+, 8GB, 160GB Intel X18-M G2 SSD, Webcam, BT, FPR Travel
Edge 14 Core i5 | Edge 15 Core i3 | Edge 15 Athlon II X2| Edge 15 Phenom II X4

Yes, it is...but, unfortunately, it is rough on the sellers of the lower end models....(ie. 600s, T2xs, even T30s).

hmmmm...now if only the parts would go down more in price.... ;-)

With T41/P's in excellent condition creeping down into the $500-600 range in Marketplace, I agree it's a good time to buy.

Great observation. I have sold 1 T41 and 2 T41ps in the last month, and prices were between 400-500 for all machines. This is a great time to buy!

Nice advertisement, underclocker!

I kid.

There truly is a great assortment up for sale, and If I didn't have a baby due in less than 3 weeks, I'd be drooling over something.

I wish the T23's at rock bottom prices would show up again...

I really must agree too, it is so tempting and on the other side really annoying not to be able to buy one because of unsuficient funds

I really hope such good offer come again in 3-4 months. ... (please)

You got that right! Looks like I waited too long to sell the T2x machines I have around-might have to go to ebay now... :(
I lost count...

Seeing I'm content with my portion of IBM's output right now (and have hardly the money to spend  , all I do is just take a cursory glance and know that the buyer will be satisfied. Only thing I don't like is the occasional lowballers, who need to IMO just take a step back and let the item either sell or not sell...

You give birth to that baby Dan and you can go on The Insider and make enough to buy us all new Thinkpads! but of course I can guarantee you - you'd rather go poor that give birth to a baby

Well, technology prices almost always climb down. I'm willing to bet TP prices will be lower in 3 months
