Unique T2xs on eBay

#1 Post by rkawakami » Tue Aug 07, 2007 2:34 am

This is the second time I've seen this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0152617414

I believe that the same seller had it listed a couple of weeks ago, also with "527Mhz" in the description. My guess would be that it's a 866Mhz, SpeedStepped down to 533Mhz?

Me edit: Altered subject line from "Just have to share this: T23 with unique CPU speed on eBay" to "Unique T2xs on eBay".

I decided to play the "ask the seller for the model number and see whether he/she knows what I'm looking for" game... I shall report back with my findings.

It is a fun game to play, isn't it?? :)

I've found that about 30-40% of them will simply provide the four digit model number, something that I've already pointed out to them I know...

I found a 570e listed on ebay with a 700mhz processor. I have asked the seller some questions but he is not responding.

Looking at the knackered hinge (and I though the 390 series got it bad, although that was a common fault...) I have a worrying feeling that will eventually happen to my brother's beat T20.

Seen plenty of 1MHz T23s (never knew there was a MOS 6502 special edition! What a killer specification!) advertised in my time. And the 800GHz T21, who can forget those.

Anyway I should lay off ;) But I'm a geek!

I saw a 700GHz T20 a few hours ago on Australia eBay...only the title was a misnomer though - the rest of the listing looked accurate enough.

How about these "SUPERFAST" Thinkpads:

366Mhz 570
800Mhz T21

If that's the range of "SUPERFAST", I wonder what he would consider my 1.6Ghz T41s?

And if 128MB RAM makes my apps run superfast, how close to the speed of light would 1GB make them run?

Wouldn't it appear to the user that it's actually going slower? Einstein's special theory of relativity and all... :)

In a totally unrelated topic, but one that I might alter the thread's subject line for is this...

Submitted for your approval... <" Dee dee de dee-dee, Dee dee de dee-dee" softly playing in the background> A crazed IBM Thinkpad collector, perusing the dregs of eBay-Land for his junkie fix, seems to recognize something.... familiar... but yet not quite identical. Has he been transported into a parallel universe? Is he experiencing déjà vu? Or has he woken up from his afternoon nap in... The Twilight Zone?

This looks so much like the system I received last year after being delivered to me by the gentle hands at FedEx. I like how the description includes, "It did not power up." :) .

And NO, I'm not buying it! :) :)
