Kaspersky 7.0 tried it yet?

#1 Post by lord jim » Tue Aug 07, 2007 8:47 am

Just got mail from Kaspersky that 7.0 is out.
Has been using 6.0 for several month by now, after Symantec's it is a blessing.
So to the point, how is 7.0 compare, especially load on resources and memory?. I wish they have put some effort into improving in this area. Any info would be appreciated.

I just started using Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 a couple of days ago. Haven't noticed any change in system response over version 6. Seems OK to me.

Here is a review of it in PC Magazine: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1895,2162416,00.asp

Note that the review is several pages long. I agree with the reviewer that the antispam module does not work that well. I hate that it marks the subject lines on many emails with [!!SPAM] before the actual subject - even if that email is not spam. I do not use Outlook, so that may be part of the problem. Once you put a sender in the Whitelist, then this no longer occurs.

Yeah, me too. :)

Recently I noticed an XML parsing error if I click on my account name or Local Folders. Otherwise it seems to work OK. I am not sure what the deal is: if a microsoft update messed it up, Kaspersky, or just a corrupt file in Net 7.2.
