File Storage

#1 Post by pdde2006 » Thu Sep 20, 2007 9:06 pm

I have just purchased a CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo II Ultrabay Slim Drive for my R52. I will be saving, mostly, picture (photo and line drawing) files.

Can anyone recommend a specific make/ specs of discs for my use while I'm still in the experimental stage ?

My thanks, in advance, for any assistance.

I trade concert bootlegs, so the quality of the media must be high. As a result, I have become a CD-R snob.

This is a great article on the different CD-R/DVD-R technologies available:

As a general rule, you really can't go wrong if you choose Taiyo Yuden media. I use this site for buying it:

 I trade (occasionally) as well...which groups are you into trading? I have a couple of hundred Dave Matthews Band shows plus a few other bits and pieces.

From what's available in Australia, I generally use either TDK or Verbatim, but I think I may have seen Taiyo Yuden in a local retailer a little while ago.

Most of my bootlegs are Dream Theater concerts (audio and video), but my collection is sprinkled with some Cream and lately, a growing fondness for Kate Bush.

Thanks to the electronic age, most of my "trading" is done via bittorrent and the fantastic tracker at DimeADozen.org. If you're looking to listen to something, don't hesitate to drop me a line.
