NCAA football fans????

#1 Post by skitty4gzus » Sat Oct 13, 2007 9:12 pm

a lil ole team about an hour south of my hometown of Cincinnati known as the Kentucky Wildcats just knocked down the #1 team in the nation LSU!!!! Currently Oregon St is up 10 against #2 Cal Bears. All of that adds up to a #1 seeding for my OHIO STATE BUCKEYES!!!! Not many people (including myself) thought at all they would even get close to being in the top 5 let alone #1. National Champs..................
*EDIT*
How did i forget to mention my hometown boys #15 Cincinnati Bearcats in a lil fight against Big East rival Louisville! GO BEARCATS!!!!!

I would like to see some sort of a playoff at the end of the year between the top 4 teams maybe? If not for the sheer enjoyment of seeing 3 more college football games a year! I love college football and oh yea everything worked out to plan, OSU is bound for that #1 spot again just like last year!!!!!

I agree. It's not like they don't have enough time during November and December. Heck....wasn't Ohio State idle for something like 60 days a couple of years ago. After ND's long skid into oblivion, I really don't have a favorite. There's beginning to be enough parity between everyone now, anybody can knock off anyone else at anytime, (LSU...OUCH!!!!).

yea sorry about the ND thing, they are pretty much pathetic this year. I am a fan of whoever is playing ND that week!!!! Its a weird dichotomy living here in the heart of michigan and being an OSU fan. They are big time, hardcore fans here for Michigan(NOT STATE!!). Their days are wrecked when Michigan loses and the deer aint moving!!!! I laugh when Michigan loses and if i can get a hold of an Appalachian St. sweatshirt I would wear it proud!!

I'm glad you put the EDIT in here (says Bob from Louisville, KY).

Neither the University of Kentucky nor the University of Louisville games
were on TV, but I got much pleasure listening to both of them on the radio.

If it wasn't for South Florida, my new favorite teams are UK and L'ville. Actually...Ivy League teams aren't that bad anymore either....

I've had season tickets to the USF (better known as "South Florida") Bulls since their inception in 1997. Rather than brag like the fans at the "big boy" schools with lots of tradition do I'm just enjoying the moment and hoping this school can have a competitive team each year. I didn't get a degree there (my wife and the friends we attend the games with have), but I enjoy the entertainment value of college football wherever I happen to live. I attended Pitt, W&M and Auburn games regularly when I lived in those areas, seen players like Tony Dorsett, Bo Jackson and Dan Marino, and I've been to games at dozens of colleges in my past travels. Though I'm not the type of fan who addresses a team as "my" or "we" I really do enjoy the college version over the pro game. I'm also far better at picking "winners" as I'm 29 of 30 with my college wagers during my Las Vegas trips over the past 2 seasons ([censored] you Michigan for breaking my perfect streak!). No, I never thought of doing that for a living as then it would be a JOB and eventually suck like my current one!

living in cincinnati we had (still have) a large disrespect for louisville! they always seemed to ruin our year in basketball, and now they both have decent of football teams to talk about and they ruin our win streak. And i say we because i went to school there. I also have long time friends that moved to louisville so i pick fun back and forth with them!

What's the difference between ND and a dollar bill?

You get 4 quarters out of a dollar bill.............

I'm experiencing Deja Vu. I wonder which team with one loss will beat them this year?
And, before you ask, no, I didn't go to Michigan or Mich. State and I never mind either of them getting taken down a peg.

hey im a realistic person too. im not on here screaming they are the best team in the nation, only that they are ranked #1. Honestly, i dont know if a 1 loss team will beat them but maybe a 2 loss team will. They will have trouble with Penn St, Wisconsin, and of course the last game of the year, Michigan. And if they can get through them than we'll talk, but they will not be a 1 loss team making it back up to the top.
