Video card Reccomendation (bf2)

#1 Post by jamerslong » Wed Dec 26, 2007 5:47 pm

i was wondering if anyone can guide me to a good card on a budget.

with the purchase of my new Desktop computer i lost my old video card in the process since it was AGP and i need PCIE

now i have a new computer, (cant be too specific cause i am 8000 miles away from it) Vist home premium with an AMD64 X2 2.10 Ghz per core. 2Gb Pc5400 Ram and a crappy intigrated video card in it.
250Gb 7200RPM SATA. a free PCIE X16 slot is there waiting for a video card.

I need a video card that will run Battlefield 2 at max Settings @1280x1024 with this Computer. i am a casual gamer so i don't plan on going crazy.

here is what i was looking at.

Check Tom's VGA charts. Bf2142 uses the same engine as BF2 with some improvements. You may want to check out Radeon 3850, it's only 160-170$ and packs almost twice the punch of the 8600gt in some games. I don't know how more BF2142 requires but if those results are an indicator BF2 might be close to unplayable with 8600GT @ 1280x1024 and max settings.
