Both Nod 32 and Zone Alarm Pro offer features beyond their known strengths.
Nod 32 offers protection for Email, Spyware and HTTP besides branded antivirus.
Zone Alarm pro is the basic Firewall from Checpoint, but also offers protection for email, spyware and AV with their basic FW package
I am trying to optimize which feaures I allow each program to manage outside of their native core strenghts on my XP Pro X61T machine.
Currently, I have Nod 32 managing antivirus, spyware, stealth mode, email and Web...
Zone alarm is managing as a Firewall. I turned off ZAP's Email, antivirus and spyware to minimize conflict.
Are there better ways two optimize this? Is ZAP the better choice for email?
With Nod 32, you apparently have to use their spyware protection to use the AV portion.
Question for Users of Nod 32 and Zone Alarm Pro (FW)
NOD32 takes less memory compare to Zone Alarm. Currently I am running NOD32 version 3.x without any slow performance problem on my ThinkPad laptop which is 1.5 Centrino, 678 MB ram .
Zone Alarm's firewall by default comes with too security. Each time you have to disable this and that. Similar with NOD32 but less hassle's.

Yes, I am using Zone Alarm Pro for the firewall and Nod32 for the AV because these are the touted core strengthss of each application.
Yet, they both also offer additional features and I was wondering if anyone knew which application offered the better extended features.
Not a big deal I guess. Too bad this post got kicked out of the X61T, HW and SW and OS categories. I know people have had these security questions for their lenovo laptops - whats the best security, should they use CSS etc etc...Not many people will see this thread here.

I would also suggest not to use ZoneAlarm Antivirus because it's very slow compared to Nod32, and it uses much more resources...
