Microsoft said Friday that it would offer $44.6 billion for Yahoo, the ailing search giant. The surprise offer of $31 a share represents a 62 percent premium to Thursday’s closing share price. Yahoo shareholders could elect to receive either cash or stock.

what do you think? Is MS as evil as Norton? Will it just buy and destroy? Or is greater MS involvement in the net something that we can look forward to?

If they want to blow their cash on Yahoo, they're welcome to it.
I for one never use Yahoo.

When I heard about this story the pessimist in me first said:

"Just goes to show you that what Microsoft cannot do on its own, they buy it."

Worked with 86-DOS, why not search technology and advertising? I guess Google is too big

yea 'read that today Dont know now feel about that. I have been using Yahoo since it first came out.
