How to speed up my Toshira L30 Laptop?

#1 Post by Tony_Gee » Sun Feb 03, 2008 6:40 am

 How can we identify which task manager's processes can be stopped, in order to speed up the pc?

Also, would it be advisable to increase RAM memory, as my current one is just 512 Mb?

Thanks for any help offered... Hugs. Tony :)

It's never a bad idea to upgrade memory for performance increases. A 7200RPM hard drive is also recommended. The L30 takes 2GB (2X1GB) PC24200 NONECC UNBUFFERED 200PIN DDR2 SODIMM's. PC24200 is cheap these days and you can substitute PC25300 for it in many cases. As far as trimming running processes, what OS are you running?

Here's a decent general guide.

Restore Your Computer's Performance with Windows XP

Most advice here would be Thinkpad centric, so may not be too helpful, but try a forum search on 'XP processes' or 'XP performance' as well.
