any suggestion for audio editing?

#1 Post by ulrich.von.lich » Tue Feb 12, 2008 4:25 pm

I use a Olympus voice recorder to record lectures, which are automatically saved as WMA files. I wonder if there's some software which would allow me to slow down the voice speed, and to combine/cut audio files.

Any suggestion is appreciated!

Thanks,
Tony

A favorite of some people here is Audacity. There's a Change Speed (affecting both pitch and tempo) effect, as well as ways to cut and paste selections. Best of all, it's a free download! There may even be some plug-ins available which get you exactly the effect or filter you need.

Thanks for the fast feedbacks!! It does seem to be an awesome software: simple and lots of features etc.. But I can't yet test it, since it doesn't support WMA files.

Another suggestion for a free/cheap WMA to WAV conversion tool?

Ah shoot! Didn't realize the Audacity doesn't natively support .WMA. Here's a workaround:
