I have no idea what to do with my life?

desperate to find all the guidance in my young life that i can get, I've signed up for counseling.... hopefully those guys can give me some insights

I completely agree. I was in the same place as you around 7.5 years back and the path I took did not make me happy.

Counseling provides you the "SAFE & STABLE PATH" that most people take. If you have a yearning for something that falls out of that then you will never be satisfied.

I'd really recommend the Art of Living / Meditation stuff. It seems a little left field but its the best SELF CLARITY you will get..

ok so here is an update. after a discussion with family friend who is a doctor and several months of figuring our what i really wanna do i have decided to try medical school once more. i got accepted to Ross. I am starting in december. this has been my dream pretty much all my life and I figured I gotta do everything I can to try finishing it. I've gone so far already, I have done 5 years of pre-med, why stop now? now... any suggestions on how to succeed in the first year.

Success in first year?....I don't know, but hopefully I will be asking you that same question this time next year! I am busy applying now.

you are an md student as well? 1st year or 2nd year? if so what's your advice for me?

Oh no, I am applying this year, and hoping to get in next year. I can not offer you any first year advice, but I may ask you this time next year.
