IBM in town: fanatical thinkpadder's site

#1 Post by schnitzelcore » Fri May 09, 2008 9:25 am

I used the search and this link didn't seem to have been posted yet:
http://komotch2.minidns.net/mati/index-e.htm
Basically, someone takes his thinkpads (and yes, he has a lot of them) to places (ranging from Japanese temples to hotel bathrooms) and makes snapshots. So, if you ever wanted to see a thinkpad hanging on a towel rack or facing a statue of a Japanese god...
Also of interest to me was the link on the bottom right of the page (my thinkpads). Here he gives some 'getto engineering' tricks for particular tp models.
I tried replacing the cells from my 701c batterypack with AA Ni-Mh's yesterday and that seems to work nicely. Although he also has some tricks for 'reviving' Li-Ion cells that seem just that bit too tricky. Easier to just buy a Dell if you're into that type of fireworks ;)
But he does print a big bold red warning for those.

Edit: Site seems to be down. Thinkpadsdotted, I guess.
Edit 2: Back up.
