Small Calender Application

#1 Post by t20user » Sat May 24, 2008 2:20 pm

I am looking for a calender/reminder application that will run in the task bar or in the background continuously. I use Outlook at work, but I don't like sync'ing with my calender at home. Also I would prefer an application that will run in the taskbar with minimal system requirements. Anyone here know of such a calender app?

If you are running Vista, there is already a built in calendar on board.

Chameleon Clock and Chameleon Clock Calendar is pretty neat; it replaces your system clock on the taskbar.

Wonderful, thanks for the application links.
I was looking for a calender too, not a fan of Windows Calender!

I also use Rainlendar, love all the skins available for it; but can it sit in the System Tray as an icon? I always had to float it on my desktop. But it is a very cool (FREE) app.

For me, the calendar on my cell phone (a Palm Centro smartphone) is much better than any calendar application on a computer because my cell phone is always on and always with me. If your cell phone has such functionality, give it a try.

No options that I can see to force it to the system tray. I use it as well - not necessarily for its to-do functions but solely in its capacity as a simple calendar.

PW, did you dump your x51v for the Centro? I just got a treo 755p, DH uses a treo 650. But I still have and use the Axim at home when I am too lazy to get the laptop; we have wifi at our house  agreed though, the palm calendars are great.

Nope. I kept the Axim mainly because it can make much better sound recordings than the Palm Centro. I use it to record my piano performances.

BTW, I'm typing this message on the Centro, which is my only means of accessing the internet at home.

I too have made recordings of live music performances in a club on the Axim, then pulled them into Audacity and equalized them. Fun stuff! Just curious, do you use the native Versamail? I bought the app ChatterEmail and use it in push mode; it works flawlessly. I use the treo for email on the road, alarm clock everyday, listen to internet radio, play CD's - the Pocket Tunes is great.
