Stolen Macbook Pro heads up

#1 Post by skitty4gzus » Mon Jun 16, 2008 8:35 pm

I know this is a long shot and all, but maybe folks here could keep their eye out for this machine floating around. A 15" macbook pro was stolen from our ministry a week and a half ago now. It is custom painted by Color Works in high gloss black. I keep my eye on craigslist and ebay and what not, but just a heads up if anybody sees one. It had a far amount of sensitive information on it and would like to see it returned. There is also a reward for any information leading to its whereabouts. The laptop was inside of a ballistic nylon Tumi laptop bag as well if that helps

Did it have Back to My Mac service installed? If so then you guys can possibly catch the thief like the following Apple employee:

"I've come a long, long way," she said, "and I will go as far,
With the man who takes me from my horse, and leads me to a bar."
The man who took her off her steed, and stood her to a beer,
Were a bleary-eyed Surveyor and a DRUNKEN ENGINEER.

its worth a try. we will have to make a few calls tomorrow. i know the machine had leopard but from there i dont know if we had this "back to my mac" activated or whatever it might take. we have serial number for the machine as well, and i think we may have the mac address for the that particular machine, and i know a guy who says we may be able to track the machine possibly from the mac address.
