HP 95LX: Need way to send file over IR to it but how?

#1 Post by mikey pizano » Mon Jun 23, 2008 2:27 pm

I have an HP 95LX and I need to send 2 files to it for flash card support. Anyone know how? I don't have anything but the unit.

I am not sure whether this will work on the 95LX, but the following does on my 100 LX ... You need a special serial cable that came with the 95LX series and transfile win 2000 (available for free on HP's website).
Now: T60 2613-EKU | T23 2647-9NU | 600X 2645-9FU | HP 100LX
Past: X31 2673-Y13 | T41 2374-3HU | T22 2647-AEU

Finding that cable is going to be a problem, and pricey for just one time I need it! That is why I wanted to use the IR port on a PDA or laptop.

IR transfer between a 95LX and a Windows machine isn't possible without special software (like Kermit), and you have no way to get it to the 95LX without the cable (or an SRAM card). Try transfering the files from a Pocket PC machine with IR as that is compatible and might be possible if the Pocket PC has an IrDA file transfer program installed. Just a guess.

The timestamp says June 2008, but the topic of conversation says June 1993.

Mad props for keeping vintage electronics going.

It would go farther if I could get the flash card drivers on it!

I guessed you were asking for that purpose ... I loaded the acecard3 driver and I have a 1 GB ATA flash card on my 100LX. Try to locate the cable cheap somewhere, it is plenty useful. You can make one if you want from instructions here:
