WD VelociRaptor 300GB 10k RPM 3.5" (2.5" convertib

#1 Post by syedj » Tue Jul 01, 2008 9:25 am

I couldn't find if anyone has mentioned it here or not but Western Digital came out with a 300GB 3.5" 10k RPM hard drive that's actually a 2.5" hard drive enclosed in a 3.5" heat sink. Although it would be a pretty good upgrade for SATA compatible laptops but I think the presence of that huge heat sink tells me it might be too hot to be used in a laptop without the heat sink. I couldn't find any information on the thickness of the 2.5" drive.

Here is more info through Newegg

There's a thread on this, we determined it was too thick. 15mm I think.
