Don't use batteryrefill.com (Rant)

#1 Post by bobbarker » Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:19 pm

Ordered a refill in...April, got there in about week (got an email saying "We got it!"). Apart from that I don't know anything. I've sent loads of emails (each being the canned "read our FAQ") and I've called countless times (get answering machine, leave message, never a call back). I'm filing a BBB complaint and if nothing comes from that I'm going to small claims court. It's only $50 but this is just an unacceptable way to treat a customer.

wow. If they lost your battery, you'd think they just be honest and send you a new one.

Woke up and found yet another canned email so I filed a BBB complaint. Hopefully it goes somewhere.

I'm in the same boat. I'm getting ready to initiate a charge-back with my credit card company. That usually gets their attention. Of course I'll still be out a battery, even if it was mostly depleted.

Yeah I was thinking of trying that if nothing goes through with the BBB. My laptop is pretty much dead anyway so I've not lost anything but an empty shell of a battery.

When you do charge back you need to be careful. There are 2 different things: A charge back, and a clause in your Billing Rights that entitles you not to pay a merchant if you tried "in good faith to solve the issue."

Some credit card companies like Discover, have setup their online system with super easy charge back console, so people know they can do this in a jiffy and often, but what they don't tell you is: You loose some of your billing rights when you file a charge back.

So advise this. Read the manual that came with your card.

Well...it took....7 months...but my battery from batteryrefill is on it's way back even though I don't personally use the X31 anymore. Guess I've got something for eBay.

I wouldn't use them again, but I think the overall transaction took a month and a half. Hit or miss, I guess.

Well the chargeback was approved a few weeks after my previous post. A month or so after batteryrefill contacted me and offered to go through with the original transaction or to return the original battery. I opted to get my battery back... it had been around 6 months.

Wow, so they've gotten worse. I had my TransNote battery rebuilt about a year ago and I was disgruntled that it took a month.

It wouldn't surprise me if they had gone belly up and the person who contacted me was a court appointed trustee.
