Useing a Wi-Fi D-Link Extream "N" router now.It's set to output B/G only with WEP 128bit KEY.

I have a Wireless "N" adapter showing up anyday now for my laptop and my landlords T60P.So i'll be setting up the D-Link for the "N". I dont know much about the N at all,never used it befor.
I have read that to get the full speed (300MB's) you need to set up a security that only the "N" will pick up.And then you cant connect a laptop with B/G to it.It's eather full speed "N" or nothing.Is this correct OR can you have the router set up with N at full speed and still use the B/G?

I have been looking online for something like a guide to setup Wireless N and explane and the security settings but not haveing much luck.
Anyone have a good web site i can look at?

To use 802.11n securely you need to have WAP or WPA2 security enabled.

WPA and WPA2 is supported for all 802.11 modes, so as long as your 802.11b or 802.11g hardware isn't too old, you should be able to get drivers for it which support WPA and WPA2. Certainly for Thinkpads there is WPA/WPA2 support for all IBM/Lenovo supplied wireless cards from circa the Intel 2200bg time onwards.

I'm using ThinkPads with Intel BG2200, ABG2915 and AGN4915 adapters in them simultaneously with Linksys WRT350N and WRT600N routers!

Thanks for the info ...It helps alot...
I now have a good idea on how to set it up.
After serching the internet for the info , i then thought about downloading the router's manual.That had all the wireless settings in there and explaned each one.
