Sounds like somebody I could support, but he doesn't stand a chance. He'll probably get fewer votes than Cynthia McCommie.

> but he doesn't stand a chance.

No offence intended, but that's just the kind of stupid comment that keeps decent people out of office.

I hear it so often I'm pretty shure you say it without thinking. You are playing back a recording in your head. Quit using your republicrat brainwashing and use your brain instead. I know you have one.

Even if the recording is true, why waste your vote on more of the same garbage?

Regardless if no offense was perceived, it's one thing to criticize the ideas and quite another to attack the messenger. Political postings (as well as some other types) are always "hot-buttons" in online fourms. Just remember that this forum is mainly here to deal with Thinkpads.

"Spot The Loony" as Monty Pythons would have it...this guy is as ignorant as he is arrogant...

Admin note: My discussion with ajkula66 indicates he is talking about Mr. Baldwin, and not the OP.

I gave $100 to the Green Party the other day, of my parent's money, which is mine also, and last year I gave about 100 dollars to Ron Paul's campaign. I think both Barack and McCain will make great presidents.

I'd NEVER call a fellow forum member a loony, regardless of how much I disagree with him/her...

This courtesy DOES NOT extend to politicians and other lower life forms...

Actually I think one of the problems in our country, and in the world, is that we both herald and drag down our politicians, which are like prostitutes. You shouldn't be so mean to them, and you shouldn't also heroize them so much, especially not presidents. A president isn't supposed to be that powerful. The whole idea of the presidency was and is to just have another check and balance in the complex, slow-moving government system, which is based on Roman and British history and law. You're not supposed to have a king, but you're also supposed to treat all human beings with dignity, unless they have broken serious laws, and behaved especially immorally, such as when they have murdered or stolen vast amounts of property.

I offer for your consideration the previous posts as prime examples of why I've always campaigned for the absolute prohibition of political discussion, along with religious and OS dogma, on the Forums!

In one of my professional pilot forums there's a separate and fairly well policed area for these discussions and even there the place often runs with blood.

Ok, first, I did *not* call anyone stupid. I called the "he can't win so we should vote for the lesser of two evils instead" response stupid. This isn't any one persons dumb idea but one that has kept people who believe in limited government, freedom, and personal responsibility out of office for years. The lesser of two evils is still evil, so isn't it evil to vote for him?

Why couldn't Chuck Baldwin win? Because people say he can't win, and vote for someone they don't really like because he can win.

*D*U*H*!*!*!

Now, for the guy who said Baldwin's as ignorant as he is arogant: Prove him wrong. Then show me an example of his supposed arrogance.

Finaly, this collection of forums is about ThinkPads, so politics is off topic. This particular forum is for off topic stuff, so what is off topic is on topic.

I'd gladly discuss the ignorance and arrogance issues off the forum soil/bandwidth, feel free to email me and we can go point by point.
