#1 Post by SaberX » Wed Oct 01, 2008 3:59 pm

I'm looking for a program that will tell me all the info on the battery in a Dell laptop.
There not like thinkpads where you can get all the info .All the Dell battery program will tell you is a green mark saying battery is good.
I want to know how maney charge cycles,full/design capacity. What the ware level is,ect.
Moble metter wont run in vista.
Notebook hardware controle is good but dont give full info.

I could have sworn I had mobilemeter running in Vista. Try installing it in compatibility mode.

Try RM Clock, just don't let it manage the CPU.

Thanks.
Thats does give most info i'm looking for.

I also found this one...
http://www.passmark.com/products/batmon.htm
But it's only good for 30 days.

I'm asking because i bought a 2nd media bay battery for this Dell and the seller said its a new overstock item. But when i got it and pluged it in i only got an extra 40min's out of it.
Useing the battery info i now seen that the design capacity is 47996mWh. But the full charge capacity is only 25049mWh. Little better then half what the seller says it should be.
So i sent the e-bay seller the screen shot showing this info and they are sending me another one after they check the capacity , and said to keep the one i have.
The one i got is still a good 2nd battery BUT i thought i was getting a new one.

I'd forgotten about RMClock...for some unknown reason NHC wouldn't work with my Vista equipped nw8240 and I've had to just use the Vista power plans along with SpeedFan to monitor my temps (which isn't really ideal IMO because I like to have the flexibility to configure that sort of stuff if I need to). I've just installed RMClock on my nc2400 and it looks quite good, so I'll definitely put it on the nw8240 and see how that works.
