Craigslist
Has anyone here had luck, recently, with selling a laptop computer for more than $100? I sold a Sony Betacam SP VTR deck last year for several hundred in cash yet I can't even sell an old ThinkPad 570 on that site. I can sell desktops left and right but as far as laptops go, if the asking price is $100 or more, it seems like the only e-mails I get are from people with absolutely atrocious grammar asking me to send to some part of Africa.

I've sold a number of T40 series laptops without problem. Craigslist can be funny, I sold a bunch of T20's without a problem, and then I put up a T23 at the same price and couldn't sell it! But I always have to wade through the scammers, and sometimes it will take a week or so.

I wish I could be on the other end of a deal on Craigslist. There's someone relisting the same thinkpads over and over, for what I think is too much, and nobody will put up any newer ones for sale at a decent price!
560, 560, 560, (all in various stages of completion/possession of a screen) 600E that's pretty dead, and a spiffy new X61 Tablet.

Everyone on CL wants to haggle, even if the price is awesome. I would rather have no hits than "I'll give you $100" on a $180 computer.
But don't worry, your money order has been APPROVED so you must now ship buyer item for verification to protekt yuo and buyer safety.
You know the deal.

It was a BVW-75. It was rather roughed up; a couple of panels missing, carry handles missing, front panel roughed up and with one switch broken off and the hours meter was missing. If I recall right, I got $500 for it when I sold it in 2007.skitty4gzus wrote:no laptops, but good to know that betacam decks are going for a few bucks. the ministry is in the middle of a big transition to digital and we will have quite a bit of old video gear we are off loading.
