Ray, do you have a Frankenpad?Windows System Requirements:
Intel® Pentium® 4 2.8GHz, Pentium M 1.7 GHz, equivalent AMD Athlon 64 processor or higher (e.g. dual core processor)
I just squeek by on the system requirements with this T42 of mine.
No Bill, I don't see how it could pick up TV in the middle of the Atlantic. It just picks up the new over-the-air digital broadcasts.
I picked up a couple of DTV converters for some old TV's I have and the picture is really great. More channels too.
DKB
Over-the-air digital TV, known as DTT (Digital Terrestrial Television) has been available in the UK since 1998.
It all started with a chargeable service run by a company called ON Digital who later became ITV Digital. The whole thing ran into financial trouble in early 2002. Later that year the BBC took over and rebranded it as a free service called Freeview. The BBC strengthened the signal and it it works very well in most parts of the UK. Some remote places cannot receive DTT broadcasts and people have to receive satellite broadcasts. There is a free satellite service now called Freesat which is able to transmit in HD.
DTT HD broadcasts are not yet available but decent upscaling allows viewers with full-HD sets to watch at 1080i.
I hope that is of interest.

No, but I've seen other USB tuners which don't require that much in CPU power (i.e., 700 to 800Mhz Pentium), yet still won't work with USB 1.1.GomJabbar wrote:Ray, do you have a Frankenpad?

I noticed one of the comments on the review of the Pinnacle
PC TV HD device reported he found one of its competitors to
be superior: the AVerTV Hybrid Volar MAX.
