I am in grad school ... 4th year of my PhD program. I have had quite a few 16hr days in the past, and sometimes they were fun. Long days are not so hard when you actually enjoy the work ...

Also switching off sources of distraction (for me, internet) helps ... helps a LOT :)

Keep hanging in there ...

Yes, i've done it last Christmas, and will get my masters degree during this month (finally)... My advice is just keep going and REMEMBER there are people that earn 1$ per day and consider themselves lucky... So, you know what to do next...

I finished my first grad class (MBA) in October, and I'm already taking a session off (8 weeks). I'm not exhausted from the one class, but I had completed my Bachelor's full-time for 26 consecutive months...Need a breather!!

I know the feeling... I am working on my final project for cca 2 years now (with breaks of course), and I feel sick when someone even unintentionally mentions my projects key words...

But the strange part is that when I do something related with my project I would rather do anything else, but when I work 12hrs+ shift I dream to come home and just read, sit and type...

I guess it is all about the pressure and burn-out...

Thank you! I won't thread hijack after my unannounced return, but it's nice to see the forum alive and well.

I guess it also depends on what one is studying where on the world and at what kind of school. For instance in Germany some bachelor studies are designed for 3 years (i.e. 3x9 months) (could be extended to 4, but not recommended).

oh yeah i didn't notice that you are from europe. you guys are on a little bit different system. although i think it is changing in germany right now. correct me if im wrong. you need to get bachlor's then masters and only then you can do PhD.

Yup, that´s true. This change has been heavily discussed in Germany for the last 4-5 years as there are many pros and cons to this (including the principle "don´t touch well running system"). As for writing a "PhD", I´m not really sure if having a master degree is a necessary condition since there are still some bachelor studies without really corresponding master studies, the whole system currently seems to be somewhat chaotic anyway.

Mine was in 32 months. I felt burned out after that (last august, yay!), however now am contemplating returning and going after my Masters.

hmmm.....

Master Temetka.

I like the sound of that.

I was thinking more along the lines of, "Lord and Master."

Something more ego appeasing.

But sure, that works too.
