recommendations for wifi repeater [resolved]

Hi,
I hope I´m not spamming the forum with too many recommendations threads, but it is just that I now have the time to ask about few things I´ve been looking for for some time now. Near my parents home there are e few free hot spots for internet access. Unfortunately, the signal is not available in all the rooms, just in one of them which is not very convenient for computer work anyway. So, basically, I´m looking for a (possibly inexpensive) device that could act as a repeater of the wireless signal across the house (not really a big house). I´m not very into this kind of devices, so any advices or insights are highly appreciated!

Keep in mind that running a "repeater" will cut your WiFi bandwidth (and throughput) in half.

Thanks, interesting reading, it sheds some light on the matter, at least I now have some idea about wifi repeaters. I guess I´ll just make an extended wifi antenna, that would be definitely much more simple and not that expensive I guess topic is resolved
