Recommend me some games that can run on my T42

#1 Post by nut cracker » Tue Mar 10, 2009 1:09 am

Hi

I'm not very familiar with computer games and need some recommendations. I've only got Call of Duty 2 now and it's great. Anything similar, or else action-adventure related? Thanks.

Sure, but nothing too mentally-intensive please. :D

Well, then I guess the civilization series are not of interest here. I don´t consider Age of Empire and Heroes III as mentally-intensive, but I´m afraid that´s rather because I have played too much of them :) In such a case I can only think of StartCraft and WarCraft II, III (III may not run so great on your machine, but with lower settings it shouldb´t be a problem though). I´m pretty sure there are many many more you can run, I just have to start remembering all that stuff again...

Hit 'em old school with some Halo:CE. I played that on my T43 just fine (not the most resource intensive game), and I bet your T42 has the same specs.

I would check out some emulators like Mame or maybe some consol emulators. I played Sonic the Heghog quite a bit on my T41. Or else I would go to Gamestop and look at used PC games that were put out the same time as your T42 or earlier.

I've been playing RCT3 a lot lately and man is it fun!

I have no idea where last saturday went, but I built a 9.4, 9.3, 5.2 coaster. (Excitement, intensity and nausea factors).

It was at 16 for the intensity until I removed the 325 foot drop into an underground loop followed by a reverse corkscrew, a large upper helix back to the surface and a height increasing barrel roll. And that was all in the first 20% of the ride. I tend to build coasters that I want to ride.

Fast, hard, and long.

I hate intense coasters that last 2 minutes when I waited in line an hour. fI want it to last 7 minutes or more.
New:
Thinkpad T430s 8GB DDR3, 1600x900, 128GB + 250GB SSD's, etc.
Old:

ThinkPad Tablet 16GB 1838-22U
IBM Thinkpad X61T, T61, T43, X41T, T60, T41P, T42, T410, X301

I love the ones you build where the intensity is highlighted in red. I played a scenario once where my guests wouldn't ride anything with intensity under a 9, so all my coasters had to be hand built. It was fun building coasters with no regard to G forces for once.

Why not play something that's exclusively for a laptop with an accelerometer?

Although this is might be best to use is you have a ssd instead of a mechanical drive :) ...
