For any of you ex-IBMers out there, you might want to pay attention to this auction. Then start going through those old boxes :).

Thanks for the memory.
I haven't seen one of those since the 1980s!
I worked on IBM mainframes for over 30 years, but never got one myself

Me too.

The IBM part number (FRU?) printed inside is G509-0023 and for the refills it's G509-0024. It also says, "For refills contact the nearest IBM office or write to IBM Canada Ltd., Dept 985, 1150 Eglinton Ave East, Don Mills, Ontario M3C 1H7." That address is now Celestica, who IBM spun off many years ago.

Has anyone had success in ordering refills in the last few years (or even decades)?

They (the S/360-30 through 3083) were my personal computers late on Sunday nights before I got a 5150 in 1982.

Where I first started on IBM machines, they still had a working 1401!
The last systems and mainframes I worked on were Abacus on Unisys, and RTB on IBM/Hitachi, both in Swiss banks.
My personal 'mainframe' has only an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ and fits nicely under my desk.
I do miss those mainframes though!

The first computer I operated was an IBM 1401 in Birmingham in 1967/1968. It had about 16K of memory ... read a card, compute, print a line. How things have changed. 8)
