Windows "DreamWeave"

#1 Post by A31 » Tue Dec 29, 2009 8:46 am

Does anybody on here have DreamWeave (included in Vista Ultimate)?? I've just got it as an "Ultimate Extra" for my desktop PC (the ThinkCentre) and it's really cool. I have Vista Ultimate on the laptop, too, but I can't have DreamWeave on it as my video card isn't high enough  What DreamWeave allows you to do is have what is essentially "a moving wallpaper on your computer". What the wallpapers are are like very small .MOV files that repeat themselves every 30 seconds, and you can have them as your wallpaper on your computer. They're really good and if you have Vista Ultimate on your computer, I recommend you get DreamWeave, just to see what it's like. :D

Too bad they took it out of Windows 7 for some bizarre reason... Slideshow isn't quite the same.

And you could have done this on a 2000/XP system with VLC on loop and DirectX Wallpaper mode anyway. I suppose you could also try it on an Aero Basic system... Just gotta be able to handle the video decoding.

Who needs a background or wallpaper anyway?
They are a total waste of space, even on a 500GB hard disk...
Lovely day for a Guinness! (The Real Black Stuff)
