Sound bars on desktop

#1 Post by Sand » Tue Jan 05, 2010 9:34 am

I wonder if someone could tell me if the bars that appear on the desktop when you press the buttons to increase or decrease the volume, are determined by Internet Explorer or the Thinkpad? I cannot find any information anywhere about these bars and how to change the color of them. There is nothing on google or IBM Access. I've tried using the desktop>display properties many times but nothing affects these bars. I know it's possible because they weren't always black.

Thanks,
Sand

Though I have not always had problems (on some occasions I've had no problem), making these adjustments can be problematic. See here:

Hope this helps a bit.

That is the OSD (on screen display) of the Lenovo Hotkey Features Driver.

Thank you for the replies. Being not that knowledgable with computer technology I was hesitant to try that suggestion about changing things after reading what problems I could encounter.

BUT I continued trying different things and was able to change the color by r.clicking Desktop>Properties>Settings>Advanced>On Screen Display> and there was an option to change the size, font and color of the on screen display. It didn't mention the volume bars but I tried it and it worked for them!

Thanks for the tip that led me there!
