[solved] File recovery from damaged floppy disk

#1 Post by Marin85 » Mon Mar 01, 2010 8:40 am

Hi,

I am trying to recover some files from old floppy disk I found back at home just a few days ago. I am using an USB floppy drive. While I was able to copy most files, there are still 2 or 3 that seem to be damaged. I can´t read them and I can´t copy them. It appears some sectors are damaged.I have tried AnyReader and Power Data Recovery so far with no success. If you are aware of any other good tools that may work out (preferably for Windows), I will be happy to receive any recommendations.

Thanks in advance,

Marin

Update: GetDataBack for FAT did the trick. It turned out that 1) the filesystem was FAT32, not FAT12 (floppy) as I thought earlier..., and 2) the floppy disk had not been properly formatted
