LED LCD...one word...

AWESOME!

I have been running a 17" LCD (purchased ~5 years ago) on a "Lenovo" notebook/LCD stand like the one pictured below:

I have been wanting to get a larger LCD however I had some reservations.

The stand noted above has some limitations, first the LCD base was not designed to work with current wide screens, second is able to "transform" to a platform that you can mount the LCD to (removing the stand from the LCD), however it can only support a certain amount of weight.

I wanted to keep the stand, since it works well for my needs, however any new wide-screen LCD was too much either with the base or without to be used in the stand...UNTIL LED LCD's came out.

I picked up this beast a few days ago:

Insignia® - 22" Class / 1080p / 60Hz / LED-LCD HDTV

The thing is awesome! It has more inputs than I would ever need (DVI and VGA being two of them), it works as a TV (has a HD decoder/tuner, so I have no need to order an additional box -saving me ~$10 per month-) but the biggest seller for me was the SLIM form factor (and this thing is SLIM!!!) plus it is light as a feather and it seems the weight of my 17" LCD is higher than the weight of this 22" wide-screen beast. This makes it a perfect fit for my Lenovo Stand.

If you are looking into getting a new LCD for you dock/desktop/laptop...LED LCD is the way to go! Slim design, light-weight and tons of features with a descent price point.

I have the same stand and have been using a 22" widescreen (non-LED) with it for the past year or so. I forget the actual weight limits, but a 22" LCD is still much lighter than even a 15" CRT!

My problem comes from the VESA mounting points. On my 19" 4:3 panel, the panel hung too low and interfered with undocking my laptop. My current widescreen has the holes lower (so panel rides higher). The stand vertical adjustment is limited and I'm using the topmost notches. Definitely panel specific though.

I agree it makes for a nice setup. I have a docked R60 with mine and its makes for clean lines.
